XPAC.

In March of 1974, Arvid Kohler and Don Ruggles purchased a small pallet and crating company located in Moline, Illinois - Export Packaging Company. At the time, there were approximately 50 employees. While continuing to focus on crating and packaging services, the new owners steadily began to grow their business, adding new customers and offering additional services such as warehousing, kitting, sub-assembly, and integrated computer systems.

In 1996, when Arvid Kohler passed away, Don Ruggles became sole proprietor of Export Packaging Company. Possessing strong business acumen, Don Ruggles established the Company name XPAC as a means of better representing the variety of services being performed and offered.

In 2011, Greg Ruggles extended the ownership lineage of his grandfather and father by becoming an owning partner with his father, Don Ruggles. In 2022, following Don Ruggles’s passing, Greg Ruggles became sole proprietor of XPAC. In 2024, Greg and Jennifer Ruggles became join proprietors. XPAC continues its reputation as an innovative supplier with a commitment to exceeding customers’ expectations and achieving continued growth.

In 2025, XPAC became a Certified Woman-Owned Corporation. We’re proud to be recognized by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
